Stick in the Mud

EN Stick in the Mud is a physical warm-up tag game from Augusto Boal's Theatre of the Oppressed toolkit. Two players chase the rest and try to tag them; a tagged player must stop and stand still with their legs apart. The only way to be freed is for another untagged player to crawl between the frozen player's legs.

RU «Застрявший в грязи» — подвижная разминка из арсенала Театра угнетённых Аугусто Боаля. Двое водящих гонятся за остальными и пытаются их осалить; осаленный игрок замирает на месте, широко расставив ноги. Освободить его может только другой неосаленный игрок, проползя у него между ног.

How to PlayКак играть

1. Choose two players to be "it" (the chasers).
2. The rest of the group spreads out and begins moving around the space.
3. The two chasers run after the others and try to tag them.
4. When a player is tagged, they must stop immediately and stand with their legs wide apart — they are "stuck in the mud."
5. A stuck player can be freed only when an untagged teammate crawls through their legs.
6. The game continues until either everyone is stuck (the chasers win) or exhaustion brings it to a natural end.

2. Остальные участники рассредоточиваются по пространству и начинают двигаться.
3. Водящие гонятся за остальными и пытаются осалить их.
4. Осаленный игрок немедленно останавливается и широко расставляет ноги — он «застрял в грязи».
5. Освободить застрявшего может только неосаленный участник, проползя у него между ног.
6. Игра продолжается, пока все игроки не окажутся «застрявшими» (победа водящих) или пока группа не устанет.
