Did You Say?

DescriptionОписание

EN A solo short-form performance game in which one player delivers an improvised speech on an audience-suggested topic. Whenever someone interrupts and misquotes the speaker, the speaker must accept the correction and spin it into a plausible, humorous explanation — building confidence, justification, and storytelling skills.

RU Сольная короткоформатная игра: один участник импровизирует монолог на тему, предложенную зрителями. Когда кто-то перебивает его и «неверно цитирует», спикер обязан принять исправление и превратить его в правдоподобное, смешное продолжение — развивая уверенность, оправдание и навыки рассказчика.

How to PlayКак играть

EN

  1. One player steps forward as the speaker. The audience suggests a topic for them to discuss.
  2. The speaker begins an improvised monologue on the topic, treating themselves as an expert.
  3. At any moment, another player or audience member interrupts: "I'm sorry, did you say ___?" — substituting a similar-sounding but different word or phrase for something the speaker just said. (Example: speaker says "bug bites"; audience asks "Did you say bug bites?" — speaker replies "No, I said shrug fights, which are very common in the Midwest.")
  4. The speaker accepts the correction and uses the new word or phrase as fuel for continued, confident storytelling.
  5. This cycle of speech and interruption continues until the facilitator calls time.

RU

Sidecoach / Сайдкоуч

EN

  • Speaker: you are the world expert on this topic — speak with full confidence no matter what.
  • Players in the audience: don't overdo the interruptions. Give the speaker room to justify the correction — that's where the humor lives.

RU

  • Спикеру: ты — главный эксперт по этой теме, говори уверенно, что бы ни случилось.
  • Игрокам в зале: не злоупотребляйте перебиваниями. Давайте спикеру время оправдать исправление — именно здесь рождается юмор.
