The smell of hands

EN Participants approach a blindfolded player one by one, tell her their name, and offer their hand to smell. After all of them have passed once, they return in a different order — and the blindfolded player must identify each person by remembering the scent of their hand.

1. One player volunteers to be blindfolded and stands or sits in place.
2. The rest of the group forms a line a short distance away.
3. Each person walks up to the blindfolded player one at a time, says their name, and extends their hand to be smelled.
4. After all participants (Boal suggests around five) have passed once, they quietly rearrange themselves into a different order.
5. Each person approaches again — this time without saying their name — and extends their hand.
6. The blindfolded player tries to name each person based on the remembered scent of their hand alone.

1. Один игрок добровольно завязывает глаза и остаётся на месте — стоя или сидя.
2. Остальная группа выстраивается в линию чуть поодаль.
3. Каждый участник по очереди подходит к завязанному, называет своё имя и протягивает руку для обнюхивания.
4. После того как все прошли по одному разу (Боал предлагает примерно пять человек), группа тихо меняет порядок.
5. Теперь каждый снова подходит и протягивает руку — но уже молча, не называя имени.
6. Задача завязанного игрока — назвать каждого по имени, опираясь только на запомненный запах руки.
