Swedish Multiple Sculpture
DescriptionОписание
EN The group divides into blind participants and sighted guides. The guides physically model their partners' bodies into a single interconnected sculpture, then step away and reproduce that exact sculpture with their own bodies. The blind participants must then crawl toward the second sculpture and identify their own guide by touch alone.
How to Play
EN
- Split the group in half: one half will be «blind» (eyes closed throughout), the other half are guides.
- Each guide learns the name of their blind partner.
- The guides spread out across the room and take turns quietly calling out their partner's name; the blind participants walk toward the voice of their guide.
- The guides keep moving and changing position, calling softly, until they decide to stop.
- Once stationary, each guide gently takes their blind partner by the hand and models that person's body into a position — all participants must be touching, forming one complex sculpture made of many bodies.
- The guides step back and look at the sculpture carefully, then move to another area of the room and recreate it with their own bodies, each guide taking the same position as their blind partner (or its mirror image — decide in advance which).
- The Joker (facilitator) calls the blind participants, who crawl on all fours slowly toward the second sculpture.
- Each blind person explores the sculpture by touch and tries to identify their own guide. When they believe they have found them, they say their own name aloud.
- If correct, the guide replies "Yes" and the blind person may open their eyes and step out — but the guide must remain in position so the sculpture stays intact.
- Continue until every blind participant has found their guide.
RU
