Option Play

DescriptionОписание

EN A pair gets a relationship from the audience, sets up who they are to each other and where they are, and starts playing. From time to time the caller stops the scene and asks the house a pointed question about what should happen next. Whatever the audience answers, the players build it into the scene and move on.

How to Play

EN

  1. Get a suggestion of a relationship between two performers (e.g., teacher and student, boss and employee).
  2. The performers establish the relationship and a location, then begin the scene.
  3. The caller watches and, at a useful dramatic moment, calls "freeze."
  4. The caller poses a specific question to the audience about what they'd like to see happen next — for example, if the scene is a teacher and student in a classroom after hours: "Why has the teacher kept the student after school?" or "This student has a secret — what is it?"
  5. The audience answers. The performers take the suggestion and integrate it into the continuing scene.
  6. The caller repeats steps 3–5 as the scene develops.
  7. Continue until the scene has played itself out.

RU
